The beach

VROOOOOM VROOOOM as the Ute starts we speed off onto the road trailing behind a long line of cars following behind a smelly old truck, I turn on my phone from boredom playing white tiles, while I was playing on my phone which felt like 5 minutes then I felt the Ute stop I wondered what it was?....I looked up to see the waves crashing into each other. YAY we are finally here I screeched, Deklyn my oldest nephew and I ran straight into the waves while Jayden my youngest nephew, Sasha my eldest niece and Charlotte the youngest niece were building sand castles and playing in the sand together.

After I stayed in the water for what felt like 10 minutes I started playing in the sand and put some more sunblock on. A little while later a lady walked past with the cutest little dog ever it was brown with a pink and white bedazzled color she had the biggest brown eyes over all she was adorable. After looking at the dog I ran into the water once again crash the waves went over me.

My sister Sam called me back to the sand she said we will be going soon it is getting late, I said to her we only just got here!!! Sam said we got here at 12 o’clock and that it is already 3 o'clock so I played in the sand for a while with Charlotte then my sister said right it’s time to go.
As we all moaned and groaned back into the Ute we all turned around to notice people on motorbikes literally tearing up the sand it was flying around everywhere luckily there was no one sitting in the area where they were riding, can you imagine that?

As I got home I ran up the driveway waddling like a penguin because I had really bad rash from the sand, I jumped straight into the shower. As I got out I looked at the bathtub…..

It was completely fill with sand.
I still can’t figure out where was all hiding can you….?

The modern learning enviroment

Genius hour

GENIUS HOUR
Lately rooms 18, 19, and 20 (the Modern Learning Environment) have been doing Genius Hour.
While we do Genius Hour we can do whatever we want but of course it has to have some learning part take in it. For my Genius Hour I have been doing 19 questions about the world and their answers. Here is my plan below to show what I am doing.

19 questions I have about the World.

Q: Is it true that we were all Monkeys before we turned into Humans?
A: There is not a true answer to this question but some believe we descended from Apes and some believe we descended from Adam and Eve.

Q: Is there a way that animals communicate?
A:Animals can communicate to their own species but not others. For example The Octopus usually communicate by changing their colours. Bees do dances to communicate with others, and Crickets scratch their legs together.

Q: How is rain made?
A:The mud produces water which evaporates into the sky which then the clouds get full and it rains.

Q:Has anyone found scientific proof that Aliens are real?
A: The answer to this is from others perspectives and beliefs.

Q: How many hours do we have of school from 5 years old to 18 years old?
A:18720 hours.

Q:What happened on earth before we came here?
A:The water we have was from the comets that hit Earth millions of years ago. When the comets hit they would have I believe 5% water in them and for millions of years it rained and that's how the oceans formed. The Earth also went through different stages. Such as an Ice Age, and sometimes volcanic ashes from many volcanoes. Now I'm not saying God didn't make it.

Q:Why is summer hot and winter cold?
A:The tilt of the Earth means the Earth will lean towards the Sun which = summer(hot) or lean away from the Sun which = winter(cold)

Q:Why does the earth spin?
A:It continues to spin because of gravity.

Q:Why does February only have 28 days in that month
A:Some believe February once boasted 28 days and that Augustus Caesar stole a day so he could add it to August, which was named for him But that’s a myth. February has 28 days because, the month was an afterthought. In the 8th century they used a 10-month calendar that kicked the year off in March and ended in December. January and February didn’t even exist.

Q:Why do people die?
A:Humans die because that is the nature of life. Our bodies age they get old they become infirm, and they get weak but then there are the causes of death that happen accidentally or just happen when people have problems with their bodies, hearts, lungs and another horrible causes.

Q:Why is the sky blue?
A: A clear cloudless day sky is blue because molecules in the air scatter blue light from the sun more than they scatter red light. When we look towards the sun at sunset, we see red and orange colors because the blue light has been scattered out and away from the line of sight.

Q:Why does the night sky go black?
A: the sky has no color of its own: it is transparent. At night, when the Sun and Moon are below the horizon, it is black, except where the stars shine through it. When the Moon rises, it turns gray: light scattered by the air molecules,

Q:Why do we need oxygen?
A: We breathe because oxygen is needed to burn the fuel sugars and fatty acids in our cells to produce energy.

Q:How many layers are on earth?
A:In total there are 4 layers on the earth!

Q:How many layers are on the sun?
A:The sun has five different layers the core, solar envelope, photo sphere, chromosome and corona.

Q:Who invented concrete?
A:Cement was made by Joseph Aspdin in 1824. Reinforced concrete was invented in 1849 by Joseph Monier. In 1889 the first concrete reinforced bridge was built, and the first large concrete dams were built in 1936, Hoover Dam and Grand Coulee Dam

Q:How many countries are in the world?
A:In total there are 196 countries in the world

Q:Why is a volcano called a volcano
A:The word volcano originally comes from the name of the Roman god of fire, Vulcan.

On the poster I will do pictures about the question E.G The word volcano originally comes from the name of the Roman god of fire, Vulcan. = I will draw a volcano.
